WINSTON-SALEM ATTRACTS BIG TALENT TO GROWING BUSINESS IN AREA
Local Technology Company Expands to Health Care Industry with New Chief Technical Officer
April 7, 2009 (WINSTON-SALEM, NC)-- Patrick Turner joins Small Footprint, a Winston-Salem based international software development company providing custom software, technology and outsourcing to a growing base of mid-sized companies, as Chief Technical Officer.
Turner brings to the local technology company over 20 years of professional technology and software development experience, including eight years in the medical device industry with Medtronic, the largest medical device manufacturer in the world. With the addition of Turner, Small Footprint is expanding their services to address the healthcare industry. “Patrick has an impressive combination of software development experience, cutting-edge technology expertise and business acumen” says founder and CEO of Small Footprint, Richard Starets. “His experience with Medtronic and his knowledge of the unique challenges in the healthcare and medical device space will give us keen insights into our customer’s needs and requirements and will be instrumental in our meeting the strategic goals we’ve set.”
Turner and his wife Alison relocated to Winston-Salem from Tennessee in 2007 because of their love for the outdoors and the many things the state of North Carolina has to offer. Winston-Salem in particular, with its Piedmont Triad Research Park and its growing technology sector, made the move that much more appealing. For the Turners Winston Salem is not only a great place to work but a great place for their two children. Turner received his MBA from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN. “I’m very excited to be joining Small Footprint” says Turner. “They are a fast-growing business with a vibrant entrepreneurial culture.” Turner also sees it as a great opportunity to apply his healthcare industry knowledge to some of the industry challenges. “I’m excited to become part of the team and look forward to helping move Small Footprint forward in its vision.”
