Business Intelligence solution for standard and ad hoc reporting and analytics (OLAP)  

 

The global aerospace business is comprised of a large number of manufacturers and vendors. Our customer, a global organization with manufacturing, sales, and administrative offices spread around the globe, struggled to keep track of their vendors who are also scattered around the globe. As a result, buyers were often unaware of vendor relationships and weren't able to take advantage of the purchasing power of the global organization.

 

Small Footprint built a custom-solution that helps these buyers and supply chain analysts see global demand, purchase history, and a number of other key elements that allow them to make smart purchasing decisions and get the best value from their supply chain.

 

The solution relies upon a data warehouse staged on Microsoft SQL Server and utilizes the entire suite of Microsoft Business Intelligence products including SQL Server Reporting Services (for canned reports) , SQL Server Integration Services (to pull data into the data warehouse from their ERP platform), SQL Server Analysis Services (for OLAP), and .NET for a custom dashboard and cross-reference data maintenance tools.
